I joined 175 other quanters at the Quantified Self meetup in Mountain View this evening, and gave an Ignite talk on the interaction between self-trackers and doctors. This is an area that presents many current challenges, past difficulties, and (I think) great future promise for developing a shared vocabulary and framework to empower both doctors and patients to have a mutually satisfying collaborative experience. Maybe this is the kind of “health care reform” we really need.
I was fortunate to share the stage with Nancy Dougherty (@phenatypical) from Basis and Anne Wright (@annerwright) from the BodyTrack project, among others (like Gary Wolf, @agaricus).
